Witchcraft is a non~hierarchical, bottom up, spiritual practice that does not have rigid rules. The following guidance is how we like to practice and we offer it as a way to begin your witchcraft journey or as an addition to your established practice. Take what you like and leave what won’t serve you. We invite you to comment with your witchcraft practice so we can all learn and develop together.
ALTAR
Your altar will create a safe space for your candle as well as a symbolic context for your spell. Find a spot for your altar that is out of reach of pets and children and away from flammable objects, like curtains. Place your candle in the center with objects that symbolically empower your spell. The objects could be things that represent the people, forces, or concepts that your spell intends to affect.
MEDITATE
Hold your candle and think about what you want your spell to accomplish. Imagine your spell coming true. What would that look like. What would it feel like? Where do you feel it in your body? Gather that feeling up from around your body, like picking flowers in a garden. Hold that bundle of sensation in your heart and let it grow in size and intensity. When you’re ready, imagine that energy traveling down your arms and out of your palms, filling your candle with this concentrated energy. When your candle is brimming with intention, set it on your altar and light the wick.
OBSERVE
Watch the flame to see what it has to say. Is it small at first, then growing stronger? Does it flicker and dance wildly? Is it steady but bright? These may be clues as to how your spell will play out.
ASSIST
Spells are not prayers to a higher power requesting a miracle. Spells are an alignment of energies, an adjustment in vibrations and manifestations, and a clarification of intent and action. Spells work as hard as you do. Look around for ways to help your spell come true. Assist her. Make the change you want to see. Be your spell incarnate.
FINISH
We don’t leave flames unattended so when you need to go out you can pause your spell by snuffing the flame. Do not blow your flame out as it will blow away your spell’s energetic intentions. When your candle has burned to completion, your spell has been fully cast and will continue to influence the world as long as it stays present in your consciousness. Take note of the ways in which your spell worked or faltered. Make adjustments to your next spell to heighten effectiveness.

Color is light of varying energy wavelengths. Violet has the shortest and highest wavelengths while red has the longest, lowest wavelengths. Like sound, the vibrations of colors can elicit emotional responses, feelings of calm or agitation, and have symbolic and cultural meanings. This is why working with color in witchcraft can boost the meaning an effectiveness of spellwork. Below are our interpretations of colors as they apply to our practice. Of course, if a color means something different to you then you should go with your intuition.
BLACK
Black is a protector that banishes harmful forces, repels enemies and breaks oppressive patterns. She’s a color that invites discernment, healthy skepticism, and firm boundaries. Black offers emotional safety for the grief of a break-up, a death, or the end of an era. Pink ~ Your Oracle is encouraging you to approach your concern with kindness and empathy. Perhaps some softness is needed to allow for forgiveness, bringing warmth back into your sphere. It may be time for some self~care. Nurturing ourselves helps us express compassion and caring.
WHITE
White is about clarity, newness, and wiping the slate clean. It’s a blank page, yet to be written. She is ready to help you start over or bless a new child or relationship. White is great when you don’t have other colors to work with because her vibes won’t influence your intentions. She is open to all possibilities and ideas.
PURPLE
Purple is the highest vibration and highest chakra, eliciting your highest spirituality. She is trust in spirit, insight, and wisdom. Purple asks you to look inward and upward for guidance.
BLUE
Blue is the color of calm and depth, a well of peace. She invites us to speak our truth without fear. Blue is harmony and honesty mixed with regulated self expression.
GREEN
Green is abundance and growth, generosity and prosperity. More is more! She will help you nurture your growing family, business, and relationships. Green says there is plenty for all of us. Sharing is caring!
YELLOW
Yellow will not be ignored. She’s bright, confident, and bursting with joy. Yellow pulls you off the wall and onto the dance floor. It’s time to really live, be seen, and get inspired!
ORANGE
Orange bathes in authenticity and courage. She orders you to go for it, be yourself, and make no apologies. Orange is bold, brave, and motivated.
PINK
Pink is our softness and sweetness. She offers emotional healing while strengthening platonic, familial, and romantic relationships. Pink is your heart~bonded bestie giving you a snuggle.
RED
And at the depth of our spectral perception we find red, the blood of our passion and desire. She is vitality, drive, and the fire in your soul. Red is unapologetically for hot sex, bad bitches, and female rage.
